Además de hacer un aporte para participar de todos los proyectos de competición, el asturiano introducirá su marca de ropa como vestimenta oficial del equipo en las distintas categorías en las que participe.

Si bien el anuncio oficial se realizará a mediados de enero en el Autosport Motor Show de Birmimgham, Fernando Alonso y McLaren tendrán una nueva relación, además de deportiva, que será comercial.
El español se convertirá en accionista de McLaren Racing y además llegará con su marca de ropa, Kimoa, y vestirá a la estructura en las distintas categorías en las que participa, desde los GT, pasando por la F1, la IndyCar y, en un futuro, hasta en el Mundial de Resistencia.
No se conoce la inversión que realizó Nano para ser accionista del grupo, aunque podría ser similar a la que efectuó Michael Latifi (padre de Nicholas), en mayo pasado, cuando desembolsó 200 millones de euros en McLaren Group.
Alonso se convierte así en el cuarto accionista del grupo, junto a Mansour Ojjeh, Latifi y el fondo Mumtalakat, que es el socio mayoritario.

En este ocasión, comenta que la nueva Unidad Motriz Renault entrega 50 CV más que la anterior (no especifica si durante la fase de clasificación o durante la carrera), pero que el fabricante francés se está encontrando con graves problemas de fiabilidad en la zona del "turbo":
